1. Scope and who we are
This policy applies to montaveris.com and pages served under that domain. “Montaveris”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the independent editorial game guide operating this website for visitors in Aotearoa New Zealand and elsewhere.
This policy is written with the information privacy principles in New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020 in mind. It does not replace any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
2. Information we collect
Information you choose to send
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any information you include. We do not ask for sensitive personal information and recommend that you do not send it.
Basic technical information
Like most hosting services, our web server may create logs containing an IP address, browser type, requested page, approximate time, referrer and error details. These logs help deliver the site securely and diagnose faults. We do not use them to build advertising profiles.
Local preferences

3. How we use information
We use information only when reasonably necessary to:
- serve, secure and maintain the website;
- respond to questions, privacy requests and corrections;
- investigate errors, abuse or attempted attacks;
- meet legal obligations and enforce our terms; and
- understand aggregate site reliability if privacy-respecting analytics are enabled in the future.
We do not make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on visitors.
4. When information may be shared
We do not sell or rent personal information. Limited information may be processed by infrastructure providers that host, secure or deliver the site, under terms that restrict their use of it. We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect a person’s safety, or to investigate misuse of the service.
Links to publisher websites open third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies; Montaveris does not control their cookies, accounts or downloads.
5. Retention and security
Server logs are kept only as long as reasonably needed for security and diagnostics, then deleted or aggregated according to the host’s schedule. Email correspondence is kept while a request is active and for a reasonable record-keeping period afterwards.
We use proportionate technical and organisational safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. If we identify a privacy breach likely to cause serious harm, we will respond in accordance with applicable New Zealand law.
6. Access, correction and other rights
You may ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access to or correction of it. To protect privacy, we may need to verify your identity. We may refuse or limit a request only where the law permits and will explain the reason.
If you are outside New Zealand, local law may provide additional rights such as deletion, restriction or objection. We will consider any request in good faith and apply mandatory rights that govern the processing.
7. Children and families
Montaveris is a general-audience editorial site and does not knowingly collect information from children. We do not operate the games we review. Parents and guardians should review the age guidance, privacy settings, chat controls and purchase controls of each game before a young person plays.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the site, our providers or the law changes. The effective date at the top will be revised. Material changes will be presented clearly on this page.
